Dear IO Hawk Fans,
We have repeatedly warned that it was only a matter of time before we get the first reports of accidents with cheap Hoverboards. We can only warn you not to buy cheap manufactured Hoverboards.
John Ruskin (an artist writer and a great architecture) once wrote:
“There is hardly anything in the world that someone cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price alone are that person’s lawful prey. It is unwise to pay too much, but it is also unwise to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money, that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything because the thing you bought is incapable of doing the thing you bought it to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot… It can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder it is well to add something for the risk you run. And if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
There is no better we way expressing it!
All our products have a 24 month warranty and an extra quality control prior to delivery. For this reason, we also have a very low complaint rate. And if something should have a malfunction, our repair center will handle it normally within 3 business days. What many interested persons also don’t know is.. A Hoverboard consists of a combination between hardware and software, and only when these two components work properly together, you get a perfect and functional product.
Don’t buy your kids a cheap manufactured product! Please inform yourself beforehand which companies sell originals and which are not. Here we refer to the media! Please ask yourself the following questions before buying:
When and where was the product or the brand first introduced?
Is the dealers address legitimate?
Is there a contact? A right of withdrawal?
An IO Hawk is so expensive….what can I do?
Wait to buy! The huge Hype of the IO Hawks (not at least due to the numerous celebrities which you can find riding an IO Hawk) will enable us to reduce the price in Q1 or Q2 in the next year without any loss of quality. Many of the component suppliers have announced significant price reductions for Q1 /Q2 2016.
For us and our team it would be the worst thing that could happen: If a child or a driver seriously get injured by a defect of an IO Hawk.
Of course we are aware of all these news about burning kitchens etc. We have previously warned about it already in June 2015.
It makes us, although none of these accidents was caused by an IO Hawk, very concerned because we were the ones who introduced this technology in January 2015 during the CES show in Las Vegas, which is now being misused
